Susan, an executive at NBC, first appears in season 4 when Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza meet with NBC Executives to discuss their ideas for a sitcom (in the episodes “The Pitch”, “The Ticket”, “The Wallet” and “The Watch”). Soon after, Susan begins dating George, where she proves to be a more relaxed counterpart to his neurotic character. During this time, she also develops an acrimonious relationship with Kramer, first when he vomits on her, and later when he burns down her father’s cabin. Susan and George break up after she is fired by NBC when George absent-mindedly kisses her during a meeting (in “The Virgin”). They briefly get back together in “The Pick”, but George decides he does not want to be in a relationship with her after all, and deliberately picks his nose in front of her so she will dump him. The next time he sees her, she is in a lesbian relationship, and George presumes he has driven her to lesbianism. Kramer then seduces her lover in “The Smelly Car” after which she begins dating Alison, George’s ex-girlfriend from “The Outing”. They are part of the various characters seen watching the show Jerry in “The Pilot”.
Susan and George meet in the season 7 premiere, “The Engagement”, and on a whim, George proposes to her (her lesbianism, as George puts it, “didn’t take”). George soon regrets the decision, and begins to panic about the wedding, and convinces her to postpone the date by breaking into tears (in “The Postponement”). Susan’s career is not mentioned during season 7, but when George asks Susan for a prenuptial agreement, she breaks into laughter, noting that she makes more money than he does, and has wealthy parents.
